The University of Georgia Press is excited to announce that it will begin accepting submissions to the Georgia Poetry Prize on October 1st. Submissions will be accepted through November 30th of this year.
The Georgia Poetry Prize is a joint effort from the Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Georgia through the University of Georgia Press to establish a national competition that celebrates excellence in poetry from North American writers.
Supported by the Bruce and Georgia McEver Fund for the Arts and Environment, the Georgia Poetry Prize is open to unpublished, original collections of poems written in English by residents of North America. Bruce McEver, an alumnus from Georgia Tech and member of the Advisory Council of the University of Georgia Press has established the prize through a generous gift in the memory of his late wife, Georgia McEver.
